Denpasar, The Indonesia Post – Deputy Minister (Wamen) of BUMN I Pahala Nugraha Mansury stated that the use of electric motorcycles for the community can save operational costs of around Rp. 1 million to Rp. 1.5 million per year.
This was said by the Deputy Minister of SOEs Pahala Nugraha Mansury when inspecting the Public Electric Vehicle Charging Station (SPKLU) at PLN’s South Bali Customer Service Implementation Unit, Denpasar, Bali, Sunday.
In addition to bringing benefits to the community, he continued, the government will also benefit in the form of savings of Rp. 1 million to Rp. 1.2 million per year, assuming that the average community fills up to around six liters of fuel per week.
He said the program to use electric vehicles is one of five government initiatives at the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) to be able to make an energy transition, one of which is by building an electric vehicle ecosystem.
“So, the people get the benefits, the government also gets the benefits. Overall, it can reduce emissions and PLN as an electricity provider will of course also benefit because the demand for electricity will certainly increase,” he said.
He hopes that the development of the electric vehicle ecosystem in Denpasar, both in terms of infrastructure, namely in the form of SPKLU, as well as the development of electric motor production facilities, can be improved considering that Indonesia’s ability to produce electric motorcycles is indeed limited.
He also ensured that the government would continue to encourage parties who have an interest in the development of the General Electric Vehicle Battery Exchange Station (SPBKLU) ecosystem, aka Battery Swapping Station (BSS) as much as possible.
Pahala Mansury also said that the construction of SPKLU has great potential, in addition to increasing the use of electric vehicles, it also increases people’s convenience in terms of charging electric vehicles, with three options for providing SPKLU ranging from medium charging, fast charging, to ultra fast charging.
For the needs of the G20 Summit itself, there are a total of 66 SPKLUs to support the operation of 936 electric cars, 30 electric buses, and 290 electric motorcycles during the activity in Nusa Dua, on 15-16 November 2022.
Meanwhile, the President Director of PLN, Darmawan Prasodjo explained that in the work on strategic projects for the development of electric vehicles, his party cooperates with various parties such as banks, offices, malls to coffee shops. (mhn/bbs)
