Inaugurating New Electricity Network, HD Supports Pali Terang Bahagia Program

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Provincial Government’s commitment to building infrastructure to remote villages is increasingly being carried out, Wednesday (25/06/2025), the Governor of South Sumatra (Sumsel) H. Herman Deru inaugurated the Lighting of the New Electricity Network (Penyur Kapal) Supporting the “Pali Terang Bahagia” Program. Taking place at the Multipurpose Building of Talang Bulang Village, Talang Ubi District. Penukal Abab Lematang Ilir (Pali) Regency.

In his remarks, Herman Deru said that the South Sumatra Provincial Government together with the Pali Regency Government through the PLN Penyuling Kapal program had provided an increase in the quality of voltage and reliability of electricity for the Pali community. So that electricity in Talang Bulang Village, Pali is equivalent to urban electricity with minimal blackouts.

The Governor of South Sumatra Herman Deru said that with the lighting of this new electricity network, more than 22,000 PALI residents will experience stable electricity with a power of 220 Volts.

So far, residents have often complained about sudden blackouts and unstable voltage due to cables being hit by trees or other technical problems.

As a solution, the South Sumatra Provincial Government issued a circular so that electric cables are secured from tree branches. In addition, ship feeders—referred to as “electric toll roads”—are considered an important breakthrough in realizing a reliable and minimally disrupted distribution system.

“Starting today, blackouts in PALI are almost no longer happening. Electricity is stable, electronic devices do not break down quickly, and the quality of life of the community has improved,” said the Governor.

Present at this event were PALI Deputy Regent Iwan Tuaji, PLN GM Adhi Herlambang, PALI Regional Secretary, Forkopimda, and heads of OPDs within the PALI Regency Government. (rys/ril)
