Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) announced two suspects in alleged bribery cases related to infrastructure development projects in Papua Province.
“Following up on the entry of public reports which were then carried out by collecting various valid information and data so that sufficient initial evidence was found, the KPK conducted an investigation and continued to the investigation stage by establishing and announcing suspects,” said Deputy Chairman of the KPK Alexander Marwata at a press conference at the Red and White Building. KPK, Jakarta, Thursday.
The two suspects are the Governor of Papua for the 2013-2018 and 2018-2023 periods Lukas Enembe (LE) and the private party/Director of PT Tabi Bangun Papua (TBP) Rijatono Lakka (RL).
Alex said that for the purposes of the investigation, the investigation team detained the suspect RL as LE’s bribe giver for the first 20 days starting January 5, 2023 to January 24, 2023 at the KPK Detention Center at the KPK’s Red and White Building, Jakarta.
Before being detained, the KPK had examined the suspect RL first at the KPK’s Red and White Building, Jakarta, Thursday. While the suspect LE has not been detained by the KPK.
The suspect LE as the recipient is suspected of having violated Article 12 letter a or b or Article 11 and Article 12B of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001.
While the suspect RL as the giver is suspected of violating Article 5 paragraph (1) or Article 5 paragraph (2) and Article 13 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001. (mhn/bbs)
