Vice President mentions steps taken by the Republic of Indonesia to become a new economic giant

Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – Vice President Ma’ruf Amin mentioned a number of steps that need to be taken to realize Indonesia as a new economic giant.

This was conveyed by the Vice President at the inauguration of the Opening of the 2022 National Conference of National Entrepreneurs Network (Japnas) in Jakarta, Wednesday, which was witnessed online.

“As the theme of the National National Conference this time, we want to get up together, move and work together to create a new economic giant towards a Golden Indonesia. For that, I want to emphasize several things to Japnas throughout Indonesia,” said the Vice President.

First, the Vice President asked Japnas to develop the potential of the digital economy in all business sectors by optimizing the use of technology. In addition to the e-commerce sector, the potential of the digital economy in agriculture, health, education, tourism, creative industries and others must also continue to be developed.

Second, he asked Japnas to foster innovations in order to create a competitive business at the regional and global levels. Acceleration, innovation, and digitization also need to be followed by good data literacy.

“Data-based business decisions will improve the quality of business processes from upstream to downstream to consumers. By still paying attention to the corridor of private data protection,” he said.

Third, the need to strengthen the collaboration of the business world, universities, government and all stakeholders to accelerate the development of a digital ecosystem that is both solid and adaptive to changing times.

Vice President Ma’ruf hopes that entrepreneurs will be the drivers of economic activity to create wider employment opportunities for the community. He invited entrepreneurs to embrace and involve micro and small enterprises (UMK) in their business activities, so that MSEs’ competitiveness increased.

Fourth, he said, the participation of Japnas in the G20 event should be utilized optimally to provide added value for the interests of the nation.

“We are optimistic that the Indonesian Presidency will bring economic benefits to the business world as well as MSMEs, as well as strengthen Indonesia’s strategic role in determining the direction of global economic recovery policies,” he explained.

On the other hand, Ma’ruf specifically asked Japnas, as one of the organizations of Indonesian entrepreneurs, to be able to help strengthen sharia-based businesses in various regions, including by filling up halal industrial areas and supporting the strengthening of MSME capacity to support Indonesia’s vision of becoming a center world halal producer.

He reminded that in a religious approach, Allah SWT has determined various natural resources in each country. God gives to a country something that is not given to another country, to make a living through trade.

“So, there are countries that are given, others are not, so there is a trade process from one country to another. Well, we are a country that God has given a lot of, agricultural, plantation, marine, mining products, which are not available in the country. others, so we can sell,” he explained.

He emphasized that in the past, other countries came to Indonesia to look for spices, until colonialism occurred. Currently, according to him, the spice route must be revived, but in another form.

“How do we sell spices by downstreaming. So, therefore, what is important is how we can process our natural resources well for downstreaming, (then) we sell them to other countries,” he said.

“I believe Japnas can do it all. And, therefore, any crisis, any global crisis, I don’t think it will affect our country and nation,” he added.

The vice president hopes that the Japnas 2022 National Conference I can inspire all Japnas members to get up and work together and produce strategic recommendations to realize Indonesia as a new economic power that the world will take into account. (mhn/bbs)
