Walking around the market, Feby Deru distributes 10 thousand masks

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – Socialization of the implementation of the COVID-19 health protocol continues to be carried out by the head of the Sumsel family welfare (TP PKK) , Feby Deru, together with the Deputy Chairperson of 1 TP PKK Sumsel Fauziah Mawardi Yahya. Since morning, while walking around from market to market, starting from pasar Burung, pasar Sayangan, Lorong Basah, pasar 16 Ilir, and dermaga Ampera. Both of them distributed masks to traders and the general public.

Suddenly, the presence of Feby Deru and Fauziah Mawardi Yahya attracted the attention of traders, buyers and people who were on the move.

In each market visited, Feby Deru and Fauziah Mawardi Yahya, apart from distributing masks to merchant stalls, also took the time to socialize and educate traders and the public to use masks as a measure to prevent Covid-19.

“Yes, that’s right. We deliberately walked around the market, apart from making our bodies healthy, we also distributed masks to traders and the public,” said Feby when she was distributing masks, at Ampera pier, Tuesday (11/08) morning.

Distributing masks directly to the public, and promoting a campaign to use masks for the prevention of the coronavirus, explained Feby following up President Joko Widodo’s direction in a limited meeting on Monday (03/08/2020).

“Before today, since the beginning of the pandemic we have distributed masks, food and basic necessities, as well as face shields to the people affected by Covid-19. So today, the South Sumatra PKK together with PMI Sumsel, and BPBD South Sumatra distributed 10 thousand masks. President Joko Widodo himself in his direction believes the role of the PKK is very effective in campaigning for the use of masks “, she said.

The campaign to use masks, according to Feby, must be carried out because it is related to the condition of the community, which sometimes neglects to implement the Covid-19 health protocol.

“We continue to socialize and remind the public to always wear masks when doing activities outside the home. During a pandemic, we inevitably have to implement the Covid-19 health protocol,” she added.

The socialization of health protocols will continue, starting from wearing masks, washing hands routinely, maintaining distance and not crowding around.

“If the community is disciplined and obedient to implementing health protocols, it can help reduce the number of people with Covid-19,” she concluded. (ojn/rel)
