On the other hand, the attitude of the Chairman of the Nasdem Party Surya Paloh was also immediately welcomed by Members of the Indonesian Parliament (DPR-RI) Nasdem Party. Coordinated by the Nasdem Party Faction, without pressure from the Party Chairperson or from the party itself, all members of the house of representatives of the Republic of Indonesia contributed 50 percent of their salary.

All members of the Nasdem Party faction in the House of Representatives, agreed to contribute half of his salary to help deal with the Coronavirus Covid-19 outbreak in Indonesia.
Nasdem Party politician, Prananda Surya Paloh said, Nasdem Party’s contribution to the handling of Coronavirus Covid-19 in Indonesia was not to increase the electability of the party founded by his father, Surya Paloh, but as a form of high concern for the people of Indonesia and this country.
“As children of the Indonesian people, all of us members of the Nasdem Faction are called to conscience to help the community in dealing with Coronavirus Covid-19. There was no pressure from the party, but we were called and agreed to donate half of our salaries to help the community affected by this plague, “Prananda said enthusiastically.
According to Prananda, affairs in the House of Representatives not only carry out the functions of Legislation, Budgeting and Controlling, but also must have sensitivity to the conditions of the people affected by the Coronavirus Covid-19 outbreak in Indonesia. “Hopefully the Coronavirus Covid-19 non-natural disaster will quickly pass and the Indonesian people will rise again to a more advanced Indonesia,” said Prananda Paloh fiery.
A similar sentiment was also conveyed by Members of the DPR-RI Nasdem Party Faction, who currently serves as Deputy Chair of the Indonesian People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR-RI), Lestari Moerdijat. Also, Charles Meikyansyah, as Chair of the Public Media and Communication Division of the Nasdem Party DPP, who is also a Member of the DPR-RI, said the Nasdem Party’s concern through 59 members of the DPR RI, immediately made a donation of Rp500 million which was handed over to the Media Humanitarian Group. That much help to help fight the Coronavirus Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia. “This donation is the result of a 50 percent discount on the salaries of 59 members of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR-RI) from the Nasdem Party Faction.
“This donation is given for the purchase of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), hand sanitizers, gloves, and others for the needs of medical personnel as the frontline in handling Coronavirus Covid-19 exposure, also for people who cannot afford,” continued Charles Meikyansyah.
Donations given by the Nasdem Party were represented by General Treasurer Nasdem Party Ahmad Sahroni and Secretary of the Nasdem Faction Saan Mustopa. The assistance was received directly by representatives of the Humanitarian Media Group Foundation, who is also the President Director of Metro TV, Don Bosco Selamun.
With the help of the Nasdem Party, continued Charles, it is hoped that it can help medical staff and people in need. “Although this assistance is not much, hopefully useful,” said Charles.
