35 Companies in South Sumatra Reportedly Not Paying THR, This is the Response of the South Sumatra DPRD

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – Commission V of the South Sumatra Provincial Legislative Council (DPRD) (South Sumatra) will directly visit 35 companies that do not pay Eid al-Fitr Allowances (THR) this year to employees.

This was confirmed, Deputy Chairman of Commission V DPRD South Sumatra, Mgs Syaiful Padli.

“We will ask the Health Office for a list of companies that do not pay THR. We will visit the company,” said Syaiful Padli.

Not only checking the THR issue, his party will also check the company’s obligations regarding BPJS health and BPJS employment for employees.

Because according to Syaiful, companies that are not administratively orderly are usually also negligent in fulfilling their employee’s obligations in terms of health and employment insurance.

“We ask for commitment from the company. We will go after the company because this is the right of the employee and is regulated by law,” said Syaiful.

According to him, if the company does not pay the THR, then the Manpower Office can give warning sanctions until the company closes.

Previously, as many as 35 companies in South Sumatra reported not paying THR to employees.

Head of Supervision of the South Sumatra Manpower and Transmigration Office, Erman Rasul, said the reported companies are engaged in plantations, hospitals, trade and education.

“There are 35 companies in South Sumatra that do not pay THR to their employees,” said Erman Rasul. (mhn/bbs/ril)
