Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Provincial Legislative Council (DPRD) of South Sumatra Province held a Special Plenary Meeting to Commemorate the 76th Anniversary of the Province of South Sumatra, led by the Chairperson of the DPRD Prov. South Sumatra; Hj. RA. Anita Noeringhati, SH, MH with the Deputy Chairperson; H.M. Giri Ramanda N Kiemas, SE, MM was attended by the Governor of South Sumatra; H. Herman Deru, Deputy Governor of South Sumatra; Ir. H. Mawardi Yahya at the Jakabaring Sport City Palembang Dining Hall, 17/5/2022.
On this occasion the Chairperson of the DPRD Prov. South Sumatra appreciates the development achievements that have been achieved by the Governor and Deputy Governor of South Sumatra:
“On this happy occasion, our appreciation goes to the Governor and Deputy Governor in developing South Sumatra by obtaining an award in the 2022 Public Leader Awards in the category of Best Sumatran Region, where the award is given as an appreciation for the achievements of the Governor of South Sumatra, which is assessed able to display innovative and productive leadership to encourage development by prioritizing good governance. As for the criteria used as an assessment for the regional category, it will be seen from the development and economic aspects of people’s welfare, public services, and health development, including the handling of Covid-19, “explained the Chair of the Provincial DPRD. South Sumatra.
“In terms of economic development and people’s welfare, South Sumatra has succeeded in increasing economic growth and reducing the poverty rate in the last one year, namely September 2020 to September 2021 by 0.19% from 12.98% to 12.79% (Source of BPS data) South Sumatra). this is our collective motivation to work hand in hand continuously to further improve programs that are directly related to underprivileged communities in the context of alleviating poverty in South Sumatra,” continued the Chair of the DPRD Prov. Especially in handling Covid-19, the Chairperson of the DPRD expressed his appreciation to the Governor/Deputy Governor and all related parties.
“In handling Covid-19, we also convey our appreciation to the Governor, Deputy Governor, Kapolda, Pangdam, Kabinda, Health Workers, Volunteers, the Covid-19 Task Force and all components of society who cannot be mentioned one by one who work hand in hand in reducing Covid-19 figures in South Sumatra,” explained the Chair of the Provincial DPRD. South Sumatra.
In addition to the Governor and Deputy Governor, he also conveyed his highest gratitude and appreciation to the Former Governors and Deputy Governors, Leaders and Members of the South Sumatra Provincial DPRD as well as former leaders and members of the DPRD, regents and mayors throughout South Sumatra who have contributed through gait and work in developing South Sumatra Province and also appreciation to community leaders, politicians, scholars, academics, culturalists, business circles, press personnel, women leaders, youth leaders, NGOs who also play a role in the progress of South Sumatra.
Besides that, the Chairperson of the DPRD Prov. South Sumatra said that the relationship between the Regional Government and the DPRD of South Sumatra Province had been going well and full of togetherness.
In line with the Chairman of the DPRD Prov. South Sumatra In his speech, the Governor of South Sumatra conveyed a glimpse of the history of the formation of the Province of South Sumatra and the importance of the momentum of the Prov. South Sumatra as a means of evaluating regional development, then in his speech the Governor also conveyed the government’s efforts in handling Covid-19, especially the community’s economic recovery and the urgency of the South Sumatra Food Independent Movement which was launched in 2021, according to the theme on Prov. Anniversary. The 76th South Sumatra is “In the spirit of South Sumatra’s 76th Anniversary, We Make South Sumatra a Food Independent”.
