Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The chairman of the South Sumatra Provincial Legislative Council (DPRD), RA Anita Noeringhati, reviews the Palembang Airport Durian Festival at the Airport Plaza in the Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin (SMB) II Airport area of Palembang, Thursday, 08/9/22.
The all you can eat durian event took place at the Palembang Angkasa Pura II Airport Branch of Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin (SMB) II Airport, entitled Palembang Airport Durian Festival.
Every day the organizers provide at least 1,000 durian grains from Kikim Lahat for visitors who want to take part in the all-you-can-eat durian eating event.
This Palembang Airport Durian Festival event is a series of events to enliven the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia and also the Anniversary of Angkasa Pura II.
The implementation involves Daneens Rumah Durian as a partner of PT Angkasa Pura II.
This all you can eat durian is held at the Plaza airport or in front of the ATM Center near the flight information board.
Executive General Manager of Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport, R Iwan Winaya Mahdar, said that the all-you-can-eat Durian Eating Festival will take place for one week starting on Saturday (27/9/2022) starting at 08.00 WIB and ending on Saturday next week.
“Every day, 1,000 local durians from Kikim Lahat are prepared to be eaten as much as possible by festival participants. The requirement to participate in eating as much durian as you like is easy, you only need to pay Rp. 75 thousand for general visitors per person,” he said.
“Especially for passengers, both departing and arriving by showing proof of boarding passes, they can eat durian more efficiently at only Rp. 50 thousand per person. Eating durian as much as you like is only valid for eating on the spot and not to take home. Participants eat as much durian as they like can also drink while eating durian and the time is not limited so that they are relaxed and there is no need to rush,” he added.
He also said that the raw or unsweetened guarantee would be replaced so that he could eat as much sweet durian as he wanted.
Seen on the first day of the festival, there were quite a lot of enthusiastic visitors, but there were still many people who didn’t know about this festival and when they found out they were interested in attending this durian-eating festival to their heart’s content. (mhn/ril)
