Palembang, The Indonesia Post – Discussion , South Sumatra “The Right Subsidy”, Is It Right? which was held by the University of Indonesia Alumni Association (Iluni UI) for South Sumatra (South Sumatra) Region, Tuesday (14/3) on the third floor of the South Sumatra DPRD Building.
The resource person, Chairperson of the University of Indonesia Alumni Association (Iluni UI) for the South Sumatra Region and Deputy Chairperson of the South Sumatra DPRD HM Giri Ramanda N Kiemas, Public policy observer and Dean of Social Sciences at Sriwijaya University (Unsri) Prof Dr Alfitri Msi, Pertamina Partaniaga Retail Sales Manager for the South Sumatra Region, Awan Raharjo.
Chairman of the University of Indonesia Alumni Association (Iluni UI) for the South Sumatra Region and Deputy Chairperson of the South Sumatra DPRD HM Giri Ramanda N Kiemas said that what must be watched out for is that there is no fraudulent use of subsidized fuel for fuel vehicle trips from depots to gas stations. Then from gas stations to fuel users.
“If everything is digitized, if everything is done with technology and outreach, it might be successful, but if we fail to do the socialization, we fail to do this data collection.
Even though there are now restrictions on fuel purchases at gas stations, according to the PDI Perjuangan politician, fuel hoarding still occurs.
“Instead of dragging him, he would go back and forth to buy gasoline a day, Rp. 630,000 X 30 days, he would still get Rp. 18.9 million, meaning that there is still profit to be made without pulling a truck. He just goes back and forth at the gas station every day. This must be considered because there are still it’s a risk but it’s no longer possible for him to go to 5 gas stations a day,” he said.
By collecting data on those who buy fuel, the amount of fuel that comes out can be controlled.
Public policy observer and Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Sriwijaya University (Unsri) Prof. Dr. Alfitri Msi said that monitoring of BBM in the downstream sector must be tightened because there are many violations which apparently come from people’s culture.
“Indeed there is a need for innovation, but people’s innovations are smarter, for example engineering car tanks and gas stations have told them not to accept tank engineering,” he said.
According to him, limiting BBM by coloring BBM is less effective.
“What needs to be regulated is enforcement, so stockpiling of fuel is detrimental,” he said.
Besides that, according to him, however, fuel will run out in the future and many countries can anticipate alternative energy and savings.
Pertamina Partaniaga Retail Sales Manager for the South Sumatra Region, Awan Raharjo, said that on March 21, South Sumatra had implemented appropriate subsidies for diesel fuel.
“That later ladies and gentlemen who want to fill up with diesel fuel must be registered first, since September we have not been bots at gas stations, so after registration we can get the maximum volume that six-wheeled vehicles and above, goods or people transport except mining and plantation transport can buy 200 liters of diesel,” he said.
With this data collection, according to him, his party can know that repeated purchases of fuel are no longer possible because the program has already set a maximum of 200 liters for six-wheeled vehicles and above, the transportation of goods or people except for mining and plantation transportation.
