Martapura, The Indonesia Post – The Governor of South Sumatra (Sumsel), Herman Deru inaugurated six infrastructure project developments in Ogan Komering Ulu East/Timur (OKU) Regency which were built in 2022.
“After a long wait, finally six infrastructure projects in East OKU Regency have been inaugurated today and can be utilized by the community,” said Herman Deru in Martapura, East OKU Regency, Sunday.
The inauguration of the infrastructure centered in Sukosari Village, Belitang District includes the construction of housing and settlements, the water resources sector, transportation, health, communications and informatics, as well as the Integrated Services Mall.
The six development projects funded through the South Sumatra Provincial Regional Budget (APBD) for the 2022 fiscal year are in an effort to improve services for the people in the region.
Deru wants the infrastructure that has been inaugurated to be utilized by the community as well as possible and it is hoped that it will also have an impact on increasing the productivity of the residents both in agriculture, plantations and other creative industries.
“Hopefully this effort from the government can have a positive impact on society, especially improving the economy of East OKU residents,” he hoped.
Secretary of the South Sumatra PUBM-TR Service, Novian Aswardani in his report said that in the construction of infrastructure in East OKU, the South Sumatra Provincial Government disbursed funds of IDR 359,836,332,309 using the 2022 APBD.
Meanwhile, financial assistance from the Provincial Government of South Sumatra in 2023 is IDR 104,999,973,200 which is intended for the road sector, housing and settlements, water resources, health, informatics communications, and the transportation sector.
“This infrastructure development is carried out to accelerate inflation control, poverty alleviation, increase connectivity, community services and improve management of regional potentials,” he said.
Meanwhile, East OKU Regent Lanosin Hamzah said in his remarks that infrastructure development in East OKU Regency was urgently needed to improve services and stimulate the economy of the people in the area.
According to him, since the leadership of the Governor of South Sumatra Herman Deru has helped a lot in funding using the South Sumatra Province APBD to increase infrastructure development in East OKU starting from roads and bridges which are currently adequate.
“Apart from the infrastructure that was inaugurated today, there have been a lot of developments in OKU Timur that have been assisted through funds from the South Sumatra Province APBD,” he said.
In fact, coinciding with the 18th Anniversary of OKU Regency in 2022, it became a special gift for the people in this area with the inauguration of infrastructure development including roads, bridges, river normalization, development of clean water systems and other infrastructure.
“Since 2004, only now is East OKU feeling independent with the many developments supported by the Governor of South Sumatra,” he said. (mhn/ril)
