Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Governor of South Sumatra H Herman Deru received the Chair of the All-Indonesian Sports Women’s Association (PERWOSI) of South Sumatra Province for the 2022-2026 period, Hj Fauziah Mawardi Yahya and the management.
HD hopes that PERWOSI can become a forum for the continuation of retired athletes. “Too many retired athletes have no value in the field, they are more focused on their survival which must be considered,” he said.
HD hopes that at least PERWOSI can become a bridge for athletes and sports coaches so that retired athletes are given the right to live in the field after they are no longer carrying out their duties as regional or national athletes in South Sumatra.
“Before this board is inaugurated, I want the retired athletes to be in the management so that we know the complaints from athletes or sports that they are involved in. The management of PERWOSI in districts / cities must also be immediately activated,” he said.
For this reason, HD requested that the district/city management of PERWOSI be sworn in at once, and then coaching will be carried out at the roadshow.
The Chairperson of the South Sumatra PERWOSI, Hj Fauziah Mawardi Yahya accompanied by the Daily Chair of the South Sumatra PERWOSI, Ria Anindita said that his party had handed over the management from the old instead of the new, and the management had been formed and in the Decree.
“The management has also held an inaugural meeting on February 26 last, and the plan is to carry out the inauguration before next July,” he said.
He continued, he said PERWOSI is a women’s organization that aims to make women healthier and is a companion for female athletes at KONI. In addition, PERWOSI will also hold mass sports events and will hold webinars on nutrition and mentoring of female athletes.
