Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The South Sumatran Food Independent Movement (SMP) program initiated by the Governor of South Sumatra Herman Deru, which was launched at the end of 2021, continues to receive positive responses from various circles of society.

Recently, to support the junior high school program, DPP Incessantly Indonesia launched City Gardens with the theme of Sumsel Independent Food. Not only corn seeds, this city garden also grows sweet potatoes, chilies and various other kitchen needs. This seed planting was carried out directly by the Governor of South Sumatra H. Herman Deru.

Where before the fast of Ramadan 1443 H ago, he checked himself in a number of traditional markets and did not see a significant increase in prices for kitchen ingredients.

According to the Infrastructure Director, planting activities like this are actually very simple. Because not only in large areas but can be done in pots. However, this movement must continue to be echoed, especially by mothers who do have free time and their daily activities are closely related to these basic needs.

Therefore, in order for the City Garden program to run according to its objectives, this action needs to be monitored especially by the community.

Currently, according to him, there are Bank Sumsel and Bank Mandiri that can be relied on to help realize the program. Both in the form of providing seeds and also planting media.

As this program runs, Herman Deru hopes that later it can help minimize stunting, malnutrition and dependence on other regions.
