Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Governor of South Sumatra H Herman Deru said that the Intellectual Batak Forum (FBI) is a forum for friendship, although the identity of the Batak cannot be closer to that of the whole of Indonesia with all its characteristics. After this committee is appointed, of course the FBI will be formed in the districts/cities, because Bataks are scattered all over South Sumatra and live in groups from various backgrounds and professions.
This was revealed by HD while attending the Inauguration and Declaration of the DPD Intellectual Batak Forum (FBI) of South Sumatra Province for the period 2022-2027.
“I am proud of the gathering of strong and sturdy youths, not only in appearance but also intellectually. Through this organization that stands all over the country. I want the South Sumatra FBI administrators and their members consisting of South Sumatran residents to keep South Sumatra one, South Sumatra Zero Conflict, ” he said.
HD said there have been many Batak people who have contributed to the country, from heroes to those who are taking part. One thing we are reminded of is that the administrators must uphold the honor of the Batak wherever they are without leaving the characteristics of traditional culture. Among other things, the distinctive dialect of the language with the advantages of clans that never go away.
“My message is don’t be rigid, don’t discriminate between religions. This is an organization whose spirit was built because of togetherness, it would be nice if this had expanded into an economic power,” he said.
He continued, one way is to stay in touch with other ethnic groups because transactions in the economy do not differentiate between ethnicity and language.
