Palembang, The Indonesia Post – South Sumatra Governor H Herman Deru said Sriwijaya Coffee and Culinary Fest 2021 is a way to promote coffee products from South Sumatra that are no less competitive with other regional products. With this activity, it is hoped that the community will be proud and love the local products owned by South Sumatra.
“I appreciate the implementation of this activity. That we must be even more aggressive to restore the economy, one of which is reviving the tourism sector by involving actors and even business people in the tourism sector. This activity can be one of the steps we take,” said the Governor of South Sumatra H Herman Deru while attending the Sriwijaya Coffee and Culinary Fest 2021.
HD hopes that this activity will raise the spirits of coffee farmers. According to him, the potential for coffee in South Sumatra Province is very large, but it is still not well known due to various factors. Therefore, HD invites people to love local products.
Although currently most of South Sumatra’s coffee is still exported through ports from other regions, it is hoped that after the Tanjung Carat Port is completed, it can support wider exports abroad so that South Sumatra coffee products can be better known nationally and even worldwide.
“There is no need for extension, but it is hoped that the production can be multiplied with maximum results. We will not let farmers work alone, that’s why we help farmers to fight together for this coffee sector. With this moment we have to change, the change is not speculation but to welcome a new market that is more strengthened,” he said.
Kadisbudpar, Aufa Syahrizal., SP., M.Sc., said this activity was carried out in commemoration of the 27th world tourism day, as well as introducing to the public that we have other tours.
This activity was attended by all coffee associations in South Sumatra and has been held from 25-27 September 2021.
