Palembang, The Indonesia Post – In order to participate in socializing driving traffic in an orderly and polite manner, the Governor of South Sumatra H. Herman Deru was willing to “pave” the streets of Palembang with hundreds of Vespa motorcycle lovers, Sunday (30/10) morning.
The delegation from the Governor of Herman Deru rode with the South Sumatra Vespa community organized by the Scoot’s Community. ID. The participants started at around 08.15 WIB from the Griya Agung courtyard – then moved to the Polda Intersection – Sudirman – Jakabaring – Kertapati – Musi VI and finished at Kebon Gede Bukit.
In his directive before releasing the riding participants, Governor Herman Deru said he was proud of the South Sumatra Vespa Community. He assessed that this community is one of the motorcycle communities that have contributed to the convenience of traffic in South Sumatra, especially Palembang.
With the incessant socialization of orderly driving, it is hoped that in the future South Sumatra, especially Palembang, will be free from traffic accidents caused by human error or other technical matters.
Furthermore, he said, this joint motorized activity is not only for refreshing and establishing friendship between Vespa lovers. However, traveling around the city also aims to give a message to the public that the South Sumatra Vespa Community is polite and obedient to the rules.
On that occasion, Herman Deru also appreciated the various series of activities carried out by Scoot’s.ID such as organizing social services, cleft lip surgery and donating blood to help people in need.
On that occasion, Herman Deru also had time to reminisce about how he could love and like Vespa motorcycles. According to him, he had fallen in love with a Vespa when he was 11 years old when he was presented with a Vespa by his father.
In addition to reviewing the Vespa motorcycle contest, at the Kebon Gede finish area, previously in this activity the Head of the South Sumatra Vespa Community also handed over a plaque to the Governor of South Sumatra H. Herman Deru. (mhn/ril)
