Inaugurating Kerta Mukti Village Office in OKI, Governor Herman Deru: A Role Model for Other Villages

Kayuagung, The Indonesia Post – South Sumatra Governor H. Herman Deru, accompanied by Ogan Komering Ilir (OKI) Regent H. Muchendi Mahzareki, officially inaugurated the Kerta Mukti Village Hall in Mesuji Raya District, OKI Regency, on Sunday (July 27, 2025). The inauguration was marked by the signing of an inscription by the Governor.

On the occasion, Governor Herman Deru expressed his admiration and pride for the Kerta Mukti Village Office, which he considered a role model for other village offices across South Sumatra.

He hoped that the presence of this village office would serve as an optimal service center for the people of Kerta Mukti Village. “Both the Regent and I are very proud of the achievement of the community, especially the Village Head. If this office was built with state or regional budget funds, it would be considered normal. But the fact that it was built through community self-reliance makes it truly remarkable,” he said.

According to Herman Deru, the self-reliant initiative spearheaded by the Village Head with the support of the local community, surrounding companies, and especially the Village Cooperative (KUD), deserves high appreciation. “This is a true example of mutual cooperation and collective participation,” he added.

Furthermore, the Governor emphasized that a magnificent village office must be complemented with excellent public services. “A beautiful building alone is not enough. What matters most is that the services provided are also beautiful, good, and representative. Only then will this office truly fulfill the needs of the people,” he stressed.

The inauguration ceremony was also attended by OKI Regent H. Muchendi Mahzareki, S.E., M.Si., along with officials from relevant regional government agencies. (mhn/ril)
