Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The chairman of the Provincial Legislative Council (DPRD) of South Sumatra Province, RA Anita Noeringhati, directly received two demonstrations from the students of the State Islamic University (UIN) Raden Fatah Palembang and the Muhammadiyah Palembang Student Association.

The students read the demands directly in front of the Chair of the South Sumatra DPRD, who was accompanied by members of the South Sumatra DPRD and the South Sumatran Police Chief Inspector General Toni Harmanto, and the Palembang Police Chief, Kombes Pol Mokhamad Ngajib.

Student representatives read out their respective letters of demand containing the rejection of the increase in the prices of basic commodities, fuel, and VAT, as well as the postponement of the election.

In front of the students, Anita revealed that the demands of students that have been submitted today will be forwarded to the Central Government, with the hope that these aspirations can be granted.

“I agree with what you said. I will convey this to the Central Government, hopefully it will be granted because it is not the mother who decides,” said Anita.
