Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – The Minister of Transportation, Budi Karya Sumadi, agreed to the proposal by the Chairperson of the Legislative Council (DPRD) of South Sumatra, Hj. Anita Noeringhati to empower LRT train facilities for educational tours.
This was revealed during a working visit to the Ministry of Transportation, Wednesday (24/1).
According to Anita, the lRT needs to continue to be empowered and its use increased, such as for educational tours for school children in South Sumatra.
“So we are proposing to the Minister that the LRT can also be used for school children’s tours, just arrange the schedule,” said the first woman to become Chair of the South Sumatra DPRD.
Receiving this suggestion, the Minister of Transportation Budi Karya agreed because the LRT needs to be introduced to the world of education.
“I agree with the proposal from the Chairperson of the South Sumatra DPRD, one shoot for tourism,” said the Minister of Transportation.
According to the Minister, the South Sumatra LRT is the first LRT in Indonesia, so it must be utilized as much as possible so that there are more benefits for the people of South Sumatra.
