Palembang, The Indonesia Post – Class I Correctional Institution (Lapas) Palembang, South Sumatra Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenkumham) held an audience with the Chairperson of the Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD) of the South Sumatra Province, which took place in the Auditorium Room of the South Sumatra Provincial DPRD.
The delegation was received by Hj. R.A. Anita Noeringhati, Chairperson of the DPRD of South Sumatra Province, (Friday, 27/01).
The purpose of the hearing was to submit a report on the condition of the prison and also to submit a request for assistance from the prison. In the hearing, representatives from the Palembang Class I prison were represented by the Head of the Palembang Class I prison, Yulius Sahruzah and also structural officials at the Palembang Class I prison. They were well served by the Chairperson of the South Sumatra Provincial DPRD who attended the hearing.
During the audience, the Head of Palembang Class I Prison, Yulius Sahruzah said that Palembang Class I Lapas had won the title of Free from Corruption Area (WBK) and would return to compete in the development of the Integrity Zone towards a Clean and Serving Bureaucratic Area (WBBM) in 2023.
By Therefore, the Head of the Palembang Class I Prison, Yulius Sahruzah submitted a request for assistance to improve existing public service facilities so that the Palembang Class I Lapas could earn the WBBM title.
Chairperson of the DPRD of South Sumatra Province, Hj. R.A. Anita Noeringhati also provided comments and suggestions for improving the condition of the prison. The hearing went well and is expected to bring positive results to the condition of the Class I prison in Palembang.
The Head of the Regional Office of the South Sumatra Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Ilham Djaya appreciated the Palembang Class I Lapas for holding hearings at the South Sumatra provincial DPRD Office. He hopes that through this hearing, the DPRD of South Sumatra can help Palembang Class I Lapas in achieving the Integrity Zone title towards WBBM in 2023. (ojn/bbs)
