Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – The Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini gave direct attention to an 11-year-old child, Ade Subhan, a facial tumor patient who underwent surgery at Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital, Jakarta
The facial tumor made the left side of Subhan’s face swell, so the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) facilitated Subhan and his mother to live in the Handayani Center, while the operational costs during treatment were borne by the Ministry of Social Affairs.
“So they have been going to the hospital to pick them up from here. If we go to the hospital, we will drive, later from the hospital, we will also pick you up here. All this time, they are waiting for the follow-up examination to stay here,” Social Minister Risma said in a written statement received in Jakarta, Monday.
The Minister of Social Affairs hopes that Subhan can undergo surgery well so he can recover, and gives him a bicycle to encourage him to get healthy quickly.
At present medical expenses such as surgery are borne by BPJS while operational costs are borne by the Ministry of Social Affairs and kitabisa.com. The donations collected for Subhan amounted to IDR 62.9 million which were submitted in stages according to needs.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Social Affairs also provides Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) assistance in the form of basic needs, nutrition, school supplies, teaching aids and games, bicycles, psychosocial support services, parenting, assistance during the treatment process, and entrepreneurial capital assistance.
Subhan’s biological mother, Arsanah (53) expressed her joy for the help and attention given to her child. Especially now that his son can be operated on again.
“Alhamdulillah, now we have surgery. We would like to thank the Minister and also the officers here (Ministry of Social Affairs) who are kind. Everyone is fighting for Subhan’s recovery,” he said.
Meanwhile, Subhan’s family lives in Majau Village, Saketi District, Pandeglang Regency, Banten. His parents work as farmers who work their own fields every day. Every 4 months, Subhan’s parents harvest 5-6 quintals of rice.
The harvest is used partly for their own needs and partly sold for their daily needs. Sometimes, to cover the necessities of life, Subhan’s parents are assisted by their children who are already working. (mhn/bbs)
