Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Palembang City Council Secretariat (DPRD), along with the Palembang City Police, held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on Socialization and Legal Assistance to Prevent Potential Deviance and Crimes within the Palembang City Council Secretariat. The event took place in the Consultative Body Meeting Room of the Palembang City Council Secretariat and was attended by structural officials and staff within the Secretariat.
The FGD featured speakers from the Palembang City Police, including the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit (Kasat Reskrim) and his staff. The presence of these police officers aimed to provide understanding and legal assistance regarding potential deviations in the performance of government duties.
The Secretary of the Palembang City Council, in his remarks, stated that this event was an effort to improve legal understanding for all officials within the Palembang City Council Secretariat. This is crucial to ensure that all duties are carried out in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
He stated that the Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD) Secretariat plays a strategic role in supporting the implementation of the DPRD’s duties and functions, including administrative services, facilitating council activities, and conducting court sessions. Therefore, all staff are expected to work professionally, transparently, and accountably.
“Through this activity, it is hoped that all employees will understand the various legal aspects related to the implementation of their duties, so that potential deviations and violations of the law can be prevented early,” he said.
In their presentation, the Palembang Police Department outlined several potential risks of deviation that could occur in the implementation of government duties, including those related to administrative management, financial management, procurement of goods and services, and abuse of official authority.
In addition to the presentation of material, the activity also included a discussion and question-and-answer session between participants and speakers to provide a more comprehensive understanding of various issues that have the potential to give rise to legal problems in the workplace.
This FGD is expected to increase legal awareness among all employees within the Palembang City Council (DPRD) Secretariat and strengthen synergy between the Palembang City Council (DPRD) Secretariat and the Palembang City Police (Polrestabes) in preventing potential criminal acts.
