Semarang, The Indonesia Post – The chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, is scheduled to inaugurate the Legi Market in Solo, Central Java on Thursday (20/1), whose construction has been completed.
“The re-operation of Legi Market is expected to improve the economy of Solo City,” said Puan in a press release received in Semarang, Tuesday.
Puan said that she had visited when the construction of Pasar Legi was only 55 percent completed some time ago.
“I will attend again after the construction of Legi Market is completed,” said the PDIP politician.
She hopes that the rebuilt main market will be comfortable when occupied by the traders.
In addition, he also hopes that traders and buyers who transact at Legi Market always carry out health protocols.
During the inauguration, the first woman to serve as Chair of the DPR will also directly test the non-cash payment system using QRIS which will be implemented in the market.
PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono and Surakarta Mayor Gibran Rakabuming are planned to accompany the Chair of the Indonesian House of Representatives during the inauguration of Legi Market.
The Legi Solo market was sold out by fire at the end of 2018.
The main market will be rebuilt starting November 2020, which consists of a 2-storey building with 4 blocks that can accommodate two thousand traders. (ojn/bbs)
