Data from the COVID-19 Task Force received in Jakarta Monday, the number of residents who have received three doses of the COVID-19 vaccine has reached 46,619,169 people.
Thus, it is recorded that the injection of a booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine has been given to 22.38 percent of the total citizens who were targeted for the COVID-19 vaccination.
Meanwhile, the population who received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine increased by 31,046 people to 167,730,074 people.
While the recipients of the first dose increased by 17,735 people, bringing the total number to 200,490,260 people.
The government plans to vaccinate as many as 208,265,720 million people.
Thus, it is recorded that the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine was given to 96.27 percent of the total 208,265,720 residents who were targeted for the COVID-19 vaccination.
Meanwhile, residents who have completed the second dose of vaccination cover 80.54 percent of the total target.
Previously, the Government Spokesperson for COVID-19 Handling Wiku Adisasmito stated that Indonesia’s complete dose of COVID-19 vaccination was the second lowest after the Philippines compared to other countries in Southeast Asia and Australia.
“Unfortunately, when compared to other countries, the full-dose vaccination coverage compared to the total population, Indonesia has only reached 62 percent. Lower than other countries,” said Wiku.
He said that although it had exceeded the target set by the World Health Organization, which was 60 percent, in fact the national complete dose vaccination coverage in Indonesia was only 62 percent. This means that only 167.5 million people out of a total of 273.5 million people have received the full dose of vaccination.
Indonesia’s full-dose vaccination achievement is still lower than Singapore’s 91 percent, Australia 84 percent, Malaysia 83 percent, Vietnam 80 percent, and Thailand 75 percent. While the Philippines is in the lowest position at 34 percent. (mhn/bbs)
