Palembang, The Indonesia Post – Governor of South Sumatra, H. Herman Deru (HD) attended and opened the 1st National Coordination Meeting of the Indonesian Muslim Student Action Unity (KAMMI) in 2025 at Griya Agung (Friday, 2/5/2025).
In his speech, HD said that the KAMMI organization is a witness to the journey of the Indonesian nation from the end of the new order until now.
“The initiators have been involved in various sectors. This proves that KAMMI is one of the organizations that will guard Indonesia and make it even better, considering that KAMMI is a witness to the nation’s journey since the end of the new order until now,” said HD.
HD asked KAMMI to help the government in fighting the disease of indifference or apathy that is currently unconsciously hitting the Indonesian people after being hit by Covid 19.
“If we let this indifference continue, too many countries will be destroyed or even disappear if their people no longer care and are indifferent about the development and future of their country. So this is what we must overcome together so that these young people can be more sensitive and want to care about the future of their country,” said HD.
Furthermore, HD advised all KAMMI members that there are 3 (three) important things that KAMMI members must have if they want to become great and successful people, namely Consistency, Consequence and Speed.
“to become great people. besides consistency, we must also be consistent in being steadfast people and having speed is an important factor in becoming a successful young generation. Therefore, Consistency, Consequence, and Speed are factors that KAMMI members must have to become great and successful people,” said HD.
At the end of his speech, HD hoped that in the future KAMMI members could become successors of the leadership baton from the village level to the central level of all organs in the Indonesian government. (ojn/ril)
