South Sumatra Legislative Council Chairperson Makes Friendly Visit to South Sumatra Regional Police Headquarters

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – Chairperson of the Legislative Council (DPRD) of South Sumatra Province, Mrs. Hj. R.A. Anita Noeringhati, SH., MH., paid a friendly visit to the South Sumatra Regional Police Headquarters (POLDA). His arrival was warmly welcomed by the Head of the South Sumatra Regional Police, Mr. Inspector General of Police. A. Rachmad Wibowo, S.I.K and South Sumatra Deputy Police Chief, Mr. Brigadier General M. Zulkarnain S.I.K, MSI.

The meeting took place on Wednesday, 26 July 2023, where various strategic issues were discussed in order to increase cooperation and synergy between the legislature and the police in strengthening security and public services in the province.

This gathering event is an important step in strengthening the partnership between DPRD and Polda Sumsel. During the meeting, the Chairperson of the DPRD, Ms. Hj. R.A. Anita Noeringhati emphasized the importance of solid coordination between the police and the legislature to create a safe and conducive environment for the community. He stated, “We, from the DPRD of South Sumatra, are committed to working together synergistically with the police to improve security and public services. Together, we will work to provide optimal protection for our citizens.”

South Sumatra Regional Police Chief, Mr. Inspector General Pol. A. Rachmad Wibowo, welcomed the friendly visit and appreciated the DPRD’s role in maintaining security and stability in the region. In the quote sentence, he stated, “We are happy for the arrival of the Chairperson of the DPRD of South Sumatra. The existence of a proactive legislature really supports the efforts of the police in maintaining order and security.”

In addition, the South Sumatra Deputy Police Chief, Mr. Brigadier General M. Zulkarnain, also added, “We are committed to continuously increasing the professionalism and quality of public services. Good cooperation between the DPRD and the police is needed to achieve this goal.”

The meeting was also an opportunity for the Chairperson of the South Sumatra DPRD to get an in-depth picture of the police’s strategy in dealing with various security problems currently being faced in the province. Hj’s mother R.A. Anita Noeringhati emphasized, “As a legislative body, we will try to create regulations that support police policies in resolving security issues in an effective and proportionate manner.”

One of the important issues discussed at the meeting was increasing traffic safety. The chairman of the South Sumatra DPRD hopes that the police can intensify patrols and supervision on highways to reduce the number of accidents and ensure that citizens’ mobility runs smoothly. In this context, the South Sumatra Police Chief promised to increase law enforcement and legal awareness among motorists. Mr. Inspector General of Police. A. The discussion also included efforts to increase police human resources (HR), especially in the fields of law enforcement and information technology. DPRD Sumsel stated its readiness to support adequate budget allocations to improve training and expertise development of police personnel. In this case, the Deputy Chief of Regional Police of South Sumatra expressed his gratitude for the DPRD’s attention and emphasized his commitment to continuously improve human resource competence.
