South Sumatra Legislative Council Chairperson Welcomes the Arrival of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad at SMB II Airport

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – Chairperson of the Legislative Council (DPRD) of South Sumatra Province, Mrs. Dr. Hj. R.A. Anita Noeringhati, SH., MH., together with Forkopimda South Sumatra Welcomed the Arrival of the Prime Minister of Malaysia for the Period 1981-2003 and 2018-2020, Tun Dr. Mahatir Mohammad at the VIP SMB II Airport in Palembang as part of a working visit to South Sumatra Province, Tuesday, (2/7/2024).

The chairman of the DPRD of South Sumatra Province together with the acting governor of South Sumatra accompanied former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohammad during a visit to South Sumatra to attend the opening of the 7th Ahlul Halli muzakarah which was centered in the auditorium of the Talang Kelapa education and da’wah foundation, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra.

I arrived at Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin 2 Palembang airport, the former prime minister of Malaysia who served for 24 years from 1981 to 2003. And from 2018 to February 2020, I was also accompanied by Commissioner General of Malaysia Medan Shahril Nizam Abdul Malek, PJ Regent of Banyuasin G. Hani Syopiar Rustam SH MH, imam Ahlul Halli Wal Aqdi KH.TB. Fathul Admin Chatib, Chairman I Ahlul Halli Wal Aqdi Ust Arbani and delegates from Malaysia’s first foundation.

Next, Mahathir Mohammad and his entourage headed to the Talang Kelapa educational and da’wah foundation, Banyuasin Regency, to attend the opening of the 7th Ahlul Halli Wal Aqdi Muzakarah in 2024.

In this forum, a number of issues being faced by Muslims today were discussed, and there was even a discussion among the participants, which was attended by ulama and intellectual delegates from a number of regions throughout Indonesia.

In his important message Mahatir Mohammad emphasized that currently the world has experienced a lot of progress so that it is a tough challenge for Muslims in the world, therefore he invited Muslims in various corners of the world to continue to strengthen their mastery of science and technology.

We must not alienate ourselves from developments in other countries, what is being done by nations in other countries, especially world powers, we must master advanced science so that we are able to create equipment to protect Muslims, he said in a very strong Malay dialect. (ojn/ril)
