Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The scarcity of cooking oil in the community has made a number of parties communicate and coordinate with a number of parties,
One of which is a member of Commission II Legislative Council (DPRD) South Sumatra (Sumsel) Azmi Shofix confirmed on Thursday (24/2) later, the branch office of Logistics Agency (Bulog) and the OKU Timur (East OKU) Regency Government (OKUT) will conduct market operations as many as 9,600 liters of cooking oil at a price of Rp. 14 000 per liter will be distributed at a number of points in East OKU Regency.
“We have coordinated with Bulog and the East OKU Regency Government, it is certain that there will be market operations,” said Azmi, Tuesday (22/2).
According to Azmi, market operations will be carried out in traditional markets in the Martapura and Gumawang areas, sub-district offices and Bulog warehouses in East OKU.
“This is the location, please let the public come to market operations,” said this Democrat politician.
This was done because there were many complaints from the public regarding the scarcity of cooking oil stocks and the high price, especially in East OKU Regency.
“With this market operation, we can reduce prices and stock in the field can be available,” he said.
Commission II of the South Sumatra DPRD will also ensure the availability of cooking oil stocks for 17 Cities in South Sumatra, at affordable prices according to normal prices by cooperating with Bulog and Regency/City Governments.
He advised the public not to panic, and to buy cooking oil for the market operation as needed, which is 2 liters per family so that all the people get a share.
“When it comes to cooking oil stocks, don’t worry, everything is being coordinated across sectors. We will continue to strive so that the supply and price of cooking oil return to normal as usual. It is the government’s duty, both executive, legislative and law enforcement officers to ensure that all food stocks are safe and have stable prices,” he said. (mhn/bbs/ril)
