Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Governor of South Sumatra H. Herman Deru received Representatives of the Education Institution Supervisor Foundation (YPLP) of the Republic of Indonesia Teachers Association (PGRI) of South Sumatra Province in order to host the 1st PGRI School Olympiad in 2023 at the national level.
HD welcomes and supports this activity. Previously, HD hoped that there would be schedule synchronization, and maturity in preparing contingents, competitors and also infrastructure.
“I hope there will be an optimization of participation in all sports. In addition to quantity, we must also improve the quality of human resources with achievements,” he said.
For this reason, HD instructed that further meetings be held in preparation. Because this brings the good name of South Sumatra and also the PGRI itself.
“As a host city, we must respond responsibly,” he said.
The Chairperson of the South Sumatran PGRI, H. Ahmad Zulinto, S.pd., MM., reported that South Sumatra was appointed as the host of this activity based on the previous board’s national meeting. It is estimated that 2,244 participants will attend with 66 representatives from each province. And a total of 5 thousand participants including companions and officials.
It is planned that this activity will be held on September 4 to 7 2023 with 14 sports carrying the theme “Building PGRI School Togetherness Towards an Advanced South Sumatra for All”. Filled with science, art, and sports competitions. (mhn/ril)
