Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – Patients who recovered from COVID-19 experienced an increase of 3,441 people or greater than the increase in new cases of 3,138 new patients, according to data compiled by the COVID-19 Task Force.
According to data received in Jakarta, Thursday, there were still 12 additional patients who died confirmed by COVID-19.
Thus, since 2020, 6,385,140 cases of COVID-19 have been accumulated in the country, of which 6,189,607 people have recovered and 157,729 people have died.
Currently, there are 37,804 active cases or patients undergoing treatment and isolation after being confirmed for COVID-19. That number shows a decrease of 315 people compared to last Wednesday (7/9).
There are also 5,138 people who fall into the category of suspected COVID-19.
The addition of cases today was obtained after 77,037 specimens from 30,990 people were tested in hundreds of laboratory networks throughout Indonesia.
The national positivity rate for the daily specimen category reached 7.82 percent and for the daily person category it was 10.13 percent.
The largest addition of new patients today was reported by DKI Jakarta with 1,318 new cases. Followed by West Java with 537 new cases, Banten with 333 new cases, East Java with 319 new cases and Central Java with 94 new cases.
DKI Jakarta is also the province with the largest addition of recovered patients, namely 1,783 people. In addition, there are also West Java with 570 people recovered, East Java 342 people, Banten 164 people and Central Java 109 people.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Health Support Sub-Section for the Emergency COVID-19 Handling Task Force Alexander K. Ginting said that preparations for the COVID-19 endemic in the country were carried out in stages.
The process begins in early 2023 taking into account the case situation under control until the end of 2022.
“We hope that this September will continue to be controlled until the end of the year, according to the initial plan, preparations for the endemic will be gradual in early 2023,” Alexander said in a virtual discussion with BNPB followed from Jakarta, Thursday. (mhn/bbs)
