Palembang, The Indonesia Post – Governor of South Sumatra H. Herman Deru (HD) officially opened the 2026 South Sumatra Young Sultan InkuBI Program which was held at the Excelton Hotel Palembang, Friday (24/4/2026).
“We are all here to unite to achieve the goal of elevating MSMEs in South Sumatra. One way is to go digital, but of course, we are also required to produce work. We have a significant asset: willpower, because we have the will to progress,” said Governor HD, beginning his remarks.
He also emphasized that the Young Sultan program must be able to produce a young generation that is independent, creative, and has big ideas in business development.
“The name Sultan Muda must have the responsibility to continue honing his skills, become a bridge in accessing capital, and become a bridge to marketing access,” he added.
The Governor also provided input to Bank Indonesia and the Financial Services Authority (OJK) to continue strengthening marketing aspects, particularly in building product appeal in the eyes of increasingly modern consumers.
Meanwhile, the Head of Bank Indonesia’s South Sumatra Representative Office, Bambang Pramono, said the program is part of efforts to develop MSME policies in South Sumatra, starting from access to financing to increasing the capacity of business actors.
He explained that this program also includes training, provision of physical facilities, marketing support, and strengthening participants’ abilities to follow digital world trends.
In addition, BI also facilitates business matching for both local and international markets. Bambang also congratulated the 150 Young Sultans who passed the selection process from the majority of applicants.
“We hope participants can optimize marketing through social media and the digital world. In addition, there will be a two-month mentoring program,” he explained.
Also present at the event were the Head of the South Sumatra Financial Services Authority (OJK), Arifin Susanto, the Head of the South Sumatra Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda), Dody Eko Prasetyo, the Head of the General Affairs and Equipment Agency (Karomo) Darmayanti, and other relevant officials.
