Data from the COVID-19 Task Force received in Jakarta, Monday, showed that 48,913,705 people had received three doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Thus, it was recorded that booster doses of vaccine injections had been given to 23.48 percent of the total citizens who were targeted for COVID-19 vaccination.
The population who received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine increased by 55,674 people to 168,503,412 people, which covered 80.91 percent of the total target.
The recipients of the first dose increased by 31,745 people, bringing the total number to 201,177,238 people or already given 96.60 percent of the total target.
The government plans to vaccinate as many as 208,265,720 million people.
Previously, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said that the implementation of booster doses of COVID-19 vaccination is currently difficult to find participants, even though it is recommended, especially recently cases in Indonesia have also returned to an increasing curve.
The President hopes that the increase will not continue to be significant.
He reminded people who have not received booster vaccinations to do so immediately.
“I also conveyed our anticipation a month or two ago about ‘booster’ (booster). Everything is ‘booster’. There are vaccines, there are still tens of millions, that’s all soon. Now we are vaccinating ‘booster’, looking for participants is difficult,” he said. (ojn/bbs)
