Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Deputy Governor of South Sumatra, H. Cik Ujang, attended and officially inaugurated the South Sumatra Regional Police’s Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Gizi / SPPG) at the SPPG Building, Pakri Complex, on Thursday (July 17, 2025).
The inauguration is part of the South Sumatra Provincial Government’s commitment to supporting the national Free Nutritious Meal (Makan Bergizi Gratis / MBG) program, which is a priority in preparation for Indonesia Emas 2045.
In his remarks, the Deputy Governor stated that the MBG program is a direct implementation of the Asta Cita vision of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto—particularly in efforts to reduce stunting rates and improve the nutritional quality of the population, especially school children, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and toddlers.
“Through this SPPG, we hope to make a tangible contribution to improving nutritional status and achieving stunting reduction targets. With proper nutrition, we can create a healthy, intelligent, skilled generation with high competitiveness,” said H. Cik Ujang.
In addition to focusing on nutrition fulfillment, the Deputy Governor also emphasized the importance of food safety, particularly in the large-scale provision of processed ready-to-eat meals. (mhn/ril)
