Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Chairman of the South Sumatra Provincial DPRD, Andie Dinialdie, attended the commemoration of the night of Nuzulul Qur’an which was filled with a sermon by Ustaz Abdul Somad at the Al-Muhtadin Grand Mosque in Muaradua, South Ogan Komering Ulu Regency, Friday (13/3/2026) evening.
Thousands of people crowded the mosque area even before the event began. The enthusiasm of the congregation from various districts in South OKU reflected the high level of community enthusiasm for celebrating the holy month of Ramadan.
This activity is part of the South Sumatra DPRD program together with the South OKU Regency Government to increase the spread of Islam and commemorate the event of the revelation of the Qur’an.
Andie Dinialdie believes that the Nuzulul Qur’an commemoration is an important momentum to strengthen the values of faith and togetherness in society.
He also praised Ustaz Abdul Somad, who he believes is capable of providing spiritual enlightenment and motivation to the community. He believes that religious activities like this deserve continued support, as they can strengthen Islamic brotherhood and build a religious community.
In his sermon, Ustaz Abdul Somad urged Muslims to use the Quran as a guide for life. He emphasized that blessings will be achieved if the Quran’s values are truly put into practice.
“Read the Al-Qur’an, understand its meaning, and practice it in everyday life. If the Al-Qur’an is used as a guide for life, then our lives will be filled with blessings,” said UAS in front of thousands of congregants.
In addition to the Chairman of the South Sumatra DPRD, the activity was also attended by the Regent of South OKU Abusama, Deputy Regent Misnadi, and the local Forkopimda ranks.
Andie hopes similar activities can continue to be held to strengthen religious values and community togetherness, particularly in South OKU Regency, during the holy month of Ramadan and beyond. (mhn/ril)
