PALEMBANG, The Indonesia Post – South Sumatra Governor H Herman Deru and the Indonesian Representative of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK) auditors conducted an Entry Meeting for a preliminary examination of regional revenues for the 2019-2020 fiscal year (second quarter) at the South Sumatra Provincial Government, in the South Sumatra Governor’s meeting room, Thursday (3/9 ).
HD itself requested that the relevant Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) could cooperate and provide support as well as information and data as accurately as possible so that the examination could run well.
“If possible, this can be done face-to-face. What is clear is that data and information related to this examination are prepared accurately so that the examination runs smoothly,” said HD.
Moreover, the audit will also focus on income from the tax sector, particularly the Motor Vehicle Tax (PKB) and BBNKB.
“With this examination, later we can evaluate if the disorder is found and we can immediately fix it so that it does not happen again in the future,” he said.
Currently, HD is focused on increasing local revenue through vehicle taxes. One of them is by giving penalty relief to taxpayers who are late in paying their vehicle tax. In addition to increasing regional income, this is done to provide an incentive for the public to be more taxable.
“The community must be given this stimulus so that the tax becomes more orderly,” he explained.
Meanwhile, the Head of BPK RI Representative of South Sumatra, Hari Purwaka, said that this examination would be carried out for the next 25 days. Where the objectives include assessing the internal control system in the management of regional revenues, assessing the risk of processes in the management of regional income. Then, determine goals and strategies as well as detailed inspection sampling.
Then, see whether the regional revenue has been administered or recorded in an orderly manner and can be accounted for and assesses whether the regional revenue which is the right of the South Sumatra Provincial Government has been received on time, in accordance with the law.
“That’s why we are conducting this examination. This regional income is a source of development funds so it is necessary to assess whether the management is in accordance with the provisions,” he concluded. (ray/rel)
