//BPS Starts Population Verification, Use Two Methods DOPU and Non DOPU
PALEMBANG, The Indonesia Post – The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of South Sumatra Province has begun to verify data on the results of the 2020 Online Population Census (SP 2020). The verification of population data starts from the private residence of the Deputy Governor of South Sumatra H Mawardi Yahya, Friday (11/9).
According to Mawardi, verification of population data is indeed important considering that the basis for preparing regional development plans requires valid and accurate data. This includes encouraging programs for community welfare that have been initiated by the government to run well and on target.
“This data is very important for future regional development planning. Through this data, the government can formulate programs that can advance the region and the people’s welfare, “said Mawardi.
For that, he invited the public to cooperate by providing the correct data to the verification officers.
“Provide correct and honest data so that the results can be useful for the community itself. Because the data reported is related to policies that will be taken by the government,” he said.
Head of BPS Sumsel Endang Tri Wahyuningsi said the verification was aimed at correcting possible errors during input during the online population census which was conducted in recent months.
This was also done, as well as to ensure that data did not change since the online census began to the current field data collection.
“The aim is to ensure the existence of the population. The data used are data from SP 2020 which was previously carried out, plus data from Disdukcapil which is called a population list, which we must verify whether their existence is in accordance with the SLS or RT or not, whether they have died, or if there are additions. so as to produce population, population according to composition or area and ownership of the NIK, “said Endang.
He explained that the verification carried out includes the name of the population, gender, age, Identity Card number (KTP) and NIK.
“What is verified is the whereabouts of the head of the family and their family members according to the population data that is in us. We ensure whether they are still in that environment or have moved, or there are also additional family members or those who died,” he explained.
Furthermore, he said, the verification of population data will take place during September 2020 and will involve at least 6400 officers spread throughout South Sumatra.
“During this September we will do it. There are about 6400 officers who carry out the verification. So one census officer will work for 10 households. We also apply health protocols in carrying out the verification. Our officers provide PPE such as masks, face shields, gloves. hands, hand sanitizers and previously we did a rapid test, “he explained.
He also added that the implementation of this verification was also carried out by two methods, namely the Drop Off Pick Up (DOPU) and non DOPU systems. The DOPU system is a data collection method where census officers only leave questionnaires both to the public, both those who have previously conducted SP Online 2020 and those who have not. The questionnaire will be retrieved by the census officer within an agreed period of time. In this case, the community filled out the questionnaire by themselves according to the instructions given.
In South Sumatra itself, continued Endang, the DOPU system is only implemented in several areas such as OKI Regency, Ogan Ilir Regency, East OKU Regency, South OKU Regency, Banyuasin Regency, Empat Lawang Regency, Musi Rawas Regency, and Musi Rawas Utara Regency.
“In addition to census officers, we also involve the local RT heads to carry out field verification and drop questionnaires for those who have not been SP Online. For other areas not mentioned, a non-DOPU system will be implemented. So non DOPU areas will not be given a questionnaire but census officers will come directly. from house to house to verify the existence of the family, “he concluded. (imf/ril)
