Herman Deru accompanied by the Head of the South Sumatra TP PKK Hj Feby Deru attended the Friendly Night Sriwijaya Ranau Gran Fondo 2020, in the tourist area of Lake Ranau, Friday (11/13/20) night.
On that occasion, HD admitted that they had prepared special prizes for the winners.
In the second year of holding the cycling challenge, HD admitted that they had prepared a car for the first winner, a motorbike for the second winner and a television for the third winner.
“For this year’s prize I added, I will prepare the first winner,” said HD, greeted by the applause of the invited guests.
According to HD, the gift giving was none other than an outpouring of pride because the Sriwijaya Ranau Gran Fondo event could be held at OKU Selatan for the second time. Even though the atmosphere of Covid 19 does not hinder the enthusiasm of the community inside and outside the region to participate. Therefore, from the beginning, he reminded the committee to prioritize discipline in implementing health protocols in its implementation.
“This is the second year, it is not perfect but it has made us proud. Earlier when I arrived there were lots of cars, buses, public transportation, motorbikes and bicycles on the streets. The acceptance of the community was also extraordinary,” he said.
Besides the Lake Ranau Festival, the Sriwijaya Ranau Gran Fondo event according to HD can also be a means for South OKU Regency to promote this area to the national and international arena.
“We’ll talk about PAD and profit orientation first. Because we are certain to gain. Imagine how the South OKU was promoted to all corners of the world with this event. The participants, who are mostly migrants, are powerful means of promotion. That’s why we have to provide the best service,” he explained.
Not only is it widely known, through this annual agenda HD hopes that there will be a rapid economic acceleration in OKUS. Because the large number of guests who come has the potential to boost all economic activities, especially for the activities of UMKM players.
“They come, definitely shopping whatever it is. Of course this makes the community
and economic actors become excited, “he said.
This opportunity, HD continued, can also be used to convince bikers that the beauty of South Sumatra is not inferior to other regions in Indonesia. Especially with his hospitality.
“I want this event to be included in the national agenda. That’s why I want it to be done, because the requirement to become a national agenda is that this event must be held 3 times,” he said.
Even in this event, HD asked the public not only to be spectators. For this reason, he invites the public to create useful programs such as the clean lake program to contribute to preserving Lake Ranau.
As a concrete form of reviving the South Sumatra economy in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Economic recovery is not only in theory but done with deeds. Whoever we can contribute to restoring the economy which is currently affected by Covid. One of the things that can be done is through this gran fondo event,” he concluded.
Apart from the Sriwijaya Ranau Gran Fondo participants, on the occasion, there were also a number of Acting Regent, such as the Acting Head of South OKU Regent Nora Elisya, Acting Regent Ogan Ilir Aufa Syahrizal and Acting OKU Regent Zaki Aslam as well as OPD heads in the South Sumatra Provincial Government and South OKU Regency Government.
