Herman Deru Encourages PALI to be more active in fostering Achieving Athletes

PALI, The Indonesia Post – The Governor of South Sumatra, H Herman Deru encouraged the PALI Regency Government to maximize the development of outstanding athletes to the international level.

This was revealed by HD after laying the first stone for the renovation of Gelora 10 November PALI Regency, Thursday (12/11/20).

According to HD, the local government (Pemda) PALI must maximize the existence of a number of well-available facilities to create high-achieving athletes.

“The stadium (Gelora 10 November) originally belonged to Pertamina EP-2, now it has been handed over from the Ministry of State Finance, so it must be utilized properly. Not only as a tourist location, but it must be a forum for fostering outstanding athletes from PALI,” said Deru.

The existence of the state asset management permit, HD continued, is proof that the South Sumatra Regional Government obeys the administration by managing state assets if it has been approved in advance by the central government.

“This is good information for the regional government and the provincial government and as evidence if the government supports it. Don’t let this infrastructure be neglected,” he said.

Added Deru, South Sumatra will host the U-20 World Cup next year. The choice of South Sumatra to be one of the locations for the organizers is certainly a matter of pride, including for the people of South Sumatra.

“To host the U-20 World Cup, we are proud. However, it is even more proud if athletes who play from the South Sumatra community themselves,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Acting Regent of PALI, Ferdian Andreas Lacony, S.Kom., MM, expressed his gratitude to the Governor of South Sumatra, H Herman Deru, who has paid attention to the Regency which is only 7 years old.

According to him, the 10 November Stadium will be the spearhead and the new spirit of the government and society to work better.

“After waiting for a long time, finally we have a loan to use the stadium November 10 permit. Hopefully this will be a grant in the future,” he hoped.

He hopes that the surge of November 10 can be a light for the development of sports and economy in PALI Regency. (imf/ril)
