Padang, The Indonesia Post – The citizens of West Sumatra officially have a new Governor from the 2020 West Sumatra gubernatorial election, namely the Mahyeldi-Audy Joinaldy pair who were inaugurated by President Jokowi at the State Palace in Jakarta, Thursday.
According to the Head of Protocol and Communication for the Head of the Padang Regional Secretariat, Amrizal Rengganis, when contacted from Padang, apart from the inauguration of the Governor of West Sumatra, the inauguration of the Chairperson of the West Sumatra Province TP-PKK will also be held.
The Chairperson of the West Sumatra TP PKK Ny Harneli Bahar will be inaugurated by the General Chair of the Central TP-PKK, Ny. Tri Tito Karnavian at Sasana Bakhti Praja, Jakarta.
Mahyeldi is the third Governor of West Sumatra to be elected since the direct governor election was held in 2005.
Previously, in the 2005 Pilgub West Sumatra, a pair of Gamawan Fauzi-Marlis Rahman was elected, the 2010 West Sumatra Pilgub Irwan Prayitno-Muslim Kasim and the 2015 West Sumatra Pilgub Irwan Prayitno-Nasrul Abit.
Mahyeldi was born in Bukittinggi, West Sumatra on December 25, 1966. The alumnus of the Faculty of Agriculture Unand began his political career as Chairman of the West Sumatra PKS DPW.
In the 2004 elections he was elected as Deputy Chairman of the West Sumatra DPRD 2004-2009.
After that Mahyeldi was proposed by Fauzi Bahar to advance in the 2009 Padang Pilkada and was elected as Deputy Mayor of Padang 2009-2014.
After serving the position of Deputy Mayor of Padang for one period, Mahyeldi then advanced in the Pilkada of Padang City and was elected as Mayor of Padang for the 2014-2019 period paired with Emzalmi.
Then Mahyeldi again ran for Mayor of Padang in the 2018 Padang Pilkada and was selected as the winner for the 2019-2024 term with his deputy Hendri Septa.
In the 2020 West Sumatra Pilgub he decided to go forward with Audy Joinaldy and was chosen as the winner.
While the Deputy Governor of West Sumatra was elected Audy Joinaldy who was born in Jakarta on May 16, 1983.
Audy is a young entrepreneur who owns the Perkasa Group which is engaged in poultry and agriculture with a focus on businesses in eastern Indonesia including West Nusa Tenggara.
The graduate of the Faculty of Animal Science IPB has six academic degrees, namely S.Pt, M.Sc, M.M, IPM and ASEAN.Eng and is currently continuing his doctoral education at the Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB) Business School.
Audy obtained her Bachelor of Animal Husbandry degree from the Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB) in 2005 and a Master of Science at the Wageningen University of the Netherlands in the field of Major Food Quality Management Minor Animal Nutrition in 2007, while her Master of Management degree was obtained from Hasanuddin University Makassar in 2011.
He also received an Engineer degree from Gadjah Mada University (UGM) in 2019 and in the same year received an IPM degree from the Indonesian Engineers Association (PII) and an ASEAN.Eng title from the Asean Federation Engineering Association (AFEO) in 2019. (icn/bbs)
