Maintaining the Quality of Local Products, HD Encourages Industry Players to Have Indonesian National Standard

OKI, The Indonesia Post – In order to improve and maintain product quality, the Governor of South Sumatra (Sumsel) Province, Herman Deru, encouraged business actors to maintain quality according to the Indonesian National Standard (SNI).

According to him, the people of South Sumatra must start to be aware of the importance of SNI because it can have a good impact on product quality because it has fixed standards.

“The goal is that the approved products have the same quality over time. Don’t let the product decrease in quality after having branding in the community,” HD said when receiving a visit from the Head of the National Standardization Agency (BSN), Kukuh S. Achmad, in connection with the implementation of the 2022 National Quality Month.

According to him, education related to the importance of SNI also needs to be carried out by BSN to the people of South Sumatra. The goal is to encourage public knowledge of the importance of SNI for the products they sell or produce.

Herman Deru encouraged BSN to participate in providing socialization of SNI to the wider community, especially for business actors in South Sumatra.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Central BSN, Kukuh Syaefudin Achmad said, BSN is a non-ministerial institution that is directly responsible to the President.

The presence of BSN is expected to contribute to the standard of protection of the Indonesian people, health, security for business actors, on this occasion his party also proposed the establishment of UPT BSN in the Province of South Sumatra.

“We are also asking for permission from the South Sumatran governor to hold the 2021 National Quality Month in South Sumatra,” he said. (ojn/ril)
