Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno stated that the preparation for the Mandalika MotoGP, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, was carried out in a coordinated and collaborative manner by various parties.
The parties in question are the central government and local governments as the Supporting Committee, the Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) and the Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA) as the Organizing Committee (organizing committee), as well as involving associations and private parties.
“The Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA) is preparing a ticket bundling scheme (combining various products in one promotional package) which includes tickets to watch MotoGP, accommodation, and transportation to and from Mandalika,” he said in a statement at the Weekly Press Briefing, Jakarta, Monday.
The preparation of this bundling scheme is based on the very high interest of racing lovers in Indonesia to witness the MotoGP event directly at Mandalika.
Regarding accommodation, it is said that his party is preparing to increase the number of tickets by 100,000 tickets so that there will be additional accommodation facilities.
The addition of accommodation consists of Tourism Residential Facilities (Sarhunta) as many as 398 places, especially in the Mandalika area. Then PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (PELNI) prepared about 700 phinisi ships, four PELNI ships, and two cruise ships.
In addition, the collaboration of the local government with Bobobox and Eiger will facilitate camping in the Mandalika Camping Ground Area by preparing 100 tent units of which one tent can accommodate four people.
The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy is said to be ensuring the strength of hotels, especially the jasmine class in the Lombok area.
“Everything is in progress which is on track (according to the plan),” said Sandiaga.
For the preparation of tourism human resources (HR), 106 tour guides have been prepared with 72 certified people.
As for training support has also been provided as needed.
“The training that will be given to tour guides is related to hospitality (business services), guidance, storytelling (storytelling activities) and photography which has been scheduled for implementation in the 2nd and 4th week of February 2022,” he said. (ojn/bbs)
