The number of recipients of the COVID-19 vaccine booster dose reaches 42.4 million people

Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – The COVID-19 Task Force reported that 42,415,365 people received a booster dose of COVID-19 vaccination after an increase of 213,553 people as of 12.00 WIB Saturday.

According to data from the Task Force quoted in Jakarta, Saturday, the addition also occurred in the complete dose which has now reached 166,160,498, an increase of 79,967 people from the previous day.

Meanwhile, the first dose was reported to have increased by 42,913, bringing the total to 199,556,458 people.

The government also continues to ensure that the 208,265,720 people targeted for vaccination have at least received the full dose to break the chain of transmission of COVID-19 in Indonesia.

Meanwhile, the Government Spokesperson for Handling COVID-19 Prof Wiku Adisasmito asked all parties to be aware of the trend of increasing community mobility which has the potential to cause a spike in COVID-19 cases after the last Eid holiday.

Based on data quoted from Google Mobility as of May 6, 2022, the increase in mobility generally occurs in retail locations, recreational grocery stores, parks and public transportation centers, while mobility in the workplace and offices as a whole has decreased.

With the potential for large transmission, Wiku asked every community to immediately complete the vaccination dose, if it has been more than six months or has not received a booster dose (booster) at the nearest health facility in order to maintain immunity.

In addition, it is hoped that the public will be aware of their condition and immediately carry out tests if they experience symptoms of COVID-19 such as coughing, runny nose and fever so as not to endanger vulnerable groups such as the elderly, children and comorbid sufferers.

The application of healthy living must also become a habit in everyday life, including always wearing a good and correct mask when meeting other people because post-pandemic life requires everyone to increase awareness of health and personal hygiene.

“In maintaining the decline in cases which is currently very significant and in order to achieve community activities and life slowly returning to the way it was before the pandemic, I don’t get tired of reminding that the key is awareness and self-discipline from each individual to keep themselves from being infected and infected. , said Wiku.
