HD: Prevent Stunting And Anemia With Preventive Measures

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Governor of South Sumatra, H. Herman Deru (HD) accompanied by the Chairman of the South Sumatra Family Welfare (TP PKK Prov. Sumsel), Hj. Febrita Lustia launched the Nutrition Action Campaign at SMA Negeri 1 Palembang.

“This movement is a preventive effort in maintaining health, lack of hemoglobin is a forerunner to the presence of the next health problems. Such as anemia and stunting. Related to this, for all levels of government, especially at the sub-district level, to cooperate with the puskesmas so as to immediately recognize the symptoms of anemia and stunting to take preventive measures as quickly as possible and carried out routinely,” said HD.

“I also hope that teachers and principals can also collaborate with puskesmas to routinely check their students’ health on a regular and continuous basis, because preventive prevention is much cheaper than we have to do treatment”, said HD.

In addition, HD also asked the Principal and Teachers to socialize the South Sumatra Food Independent Movement (GSMP) to students so that they get used to producing and not just being consumers.

“I ask the principal and teachers to socialize GSMP and provide assessments for students and this can also help meet the basic needs of their respective parents. It can also change their mindset as productive students,” said HD.

Regarding the Nutrition Action Campaign, HD requested that the campaign movement be launched in every school in all districts/cities throughout South Sumatra. (mhn/ril)
