Palembang, The Indonesia Post – Still in the series of the commemoration of the 75th Indonesian Independence Day, after participating in a commemoration ceremony for the seconds of proclamation virtually, the Governor of South Sumatra, Herman Deru, accompanied by the Chairman of the family welfare (TP PKK) of South Sumatra, Feby Deru, released the Team for the Joint Movement to Wear Masks (Gebrak Masks) TP PKK South Sumatra and the Governing Council Region of the Kepamongprajaan Higher Education Alumni Family Association (DPD IKAPTK) South Sumatra.
Governor Herman Deru appreciated the movement carried out by the South Sumatra TP PKK together with the South Sumatra IKAPTK DPD. According to him, in this difficult time of the Covid-19 pandemic, attention, and concern for the public by distributing masks is a good thing. “This movement has been initiated by the South Sumatra PKK TP during the early days of the Covid-19 pandemic until now,” he said on the Griya Agung page, Monday (17/08).
Furthermore, Herman Deru hopes that this mask distribution movement can be carried out thoroughly in South Sumatra so that the community can feel the benefits. During the Covid-19 pandemic, there are a number of new habits that must be carried out in your activities. For this reason, HD requested that when distributing masks, the public should also be educated about health protocols.
“This must be done. When doing activities outside the home, you have to use a mask for self-protection. There are still people who are reluctant to use a mask. Of course, we hope that the results of the vaccine can be known for us all,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, the head of the TP PKK South Sumatra, Feby Deru, said that today’s distribution of masks was carried out simultaneously. This activity was held in collaboration with the South Sumatra TP PKK, South Sumatra IKAPTK DPD, and the South Sumatra Village Community Empowerment Service (PMD).
“Today, three thousand masks were distributed. Before the distribution of masks simultaneously, from April to August the South Sumatra PKK TP had distributed ten thousand masks and face shields to traders in the market,” she said.
In addition, since the launching of the PKK Mask Gebrak on August 10 by the General Chairperson of the TP PKK Central, Feby said that her party had distributed five thousand masks to traders and the public.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chairman 1 of the Sumsel PKK TP, Fauziah Mawardi Yahya, conveyed the distribution of masks to the public as an effort to increase public awareness of the importance of protecting yourself from contracting Covid-19.
“Hopefully we can all stay healthy. And don’t forget to use a mask when you are outside the house,” she said.
The release of the Gebrak Masks team was also attended by the Deputy Governor of South Sumatra Mawardi Yahya, members of the Indonesian Parliament Percha Leanpuri, and the South Sumatra Forkopimda. (jekk/rel)
