OKU, The Indonesia Post – Still in a series of working visits to OKU Regency, after the first harvest of lowland rice in Lontar village, Muara Jaya District, Sunday (6/9) morning. The governor continued his work agenda by taking a close look at the construction work of the Al Ikhlas Mosque in Tangsi Lontar village, Pengandonan sub-district by using a two-wheeled motorbike mode.
Even though the distance between the two villages is quite far and can only be accessed by using a two-wheeled motorbike, it does not dampen his intention to stay in touch with the residents of Tangsi Lontar village who have been waiting for his arrival from the morning. Even Herman Deru at that time was riding with the Regent of OKU, Drs H. Kuryana Azis, passing the road around the rice field embankment.
In this place, Herman Dedu was forced to park the motorbike he was riding, because he had to pass a suspension bridge that stretched over the river, which was the only access connecting the two neighboring villages.
Arriving at the location of the Al Ikhlas Mosque, Tangsi Lontar Village, Pengandonan District, the governor and his entourage were immediately greeted with joy by the residents.
In his direction when observing the construction process of the Al Ikhlas Mosque, Governor H. Herman Deru expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to stay in touch with local residents. Moreover, the enthusiasm of the residents in maintaining Islamic brotherhood and talisilaturahmi in the area is well maintained. He also mentioned that his presence at the OKU was a form and responsibility of being a regional head.
“We must have a spirit of development, sincerity in doing things. We have to protect the relationship, togetherness of ulama and umaro with the people. Our region is known for zero conflicts. Zero conflicts in South Sumatra are what we need to protect. Especially facing the Pilkada which is not long before. held, we maintain unity and integrity, “hoped Herman Deru.
Regarding the construction of the mosque, HD said he was proud that the mosque construction committee did not put up tin cans asking for donations on the road because it was more moderate than the benefits. In addition to damaged roads, traffic can be disrupted and what is even worse can cause negative perceptions of the noble values in Islam in the eyes of other people.
“I am here not only for food security but also to invite Muslims to have moral values. This is good for the mosque construction committee to come to the governor and regent. We will build this historic mosque together,” he added.
HD said that he had never seen the size of a mosque, but what was more important was the enthusiasm of the people in making the mosque prosperous.
The governor also added that he had revived the P3N which had been previously deleted. We change the name to Village Religious Affairs Liaison Officer (P2UKD) spread across 3500 villages in South Sumatra. It used to be difficult to get married because of the limited number of upstream officers.
“Since the beginning I was the governor. First in Indonesia P3N, we revive the name, replaced by P2UKD in collaboration with the Ministry of Religion and the Provincial Government of South Sumatra,” he said.
At this opportunity, Herman Deru was pleased to provide assistance funds to accelerate the completion of the construction of the mosque in Tangsi Lontar Village.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Al Ikhlas Mosque Construction Committee, Ferizal, in his report stated that this mosque was built during the Dutch era at the same time as the Tangsi Lontar Village around 1912.
“The last condition is worrying and needs reconstruction. Thank you, the governor for coming and seeing our mosque building directly,” he said. (jekk/rel)
