OKU, The Indonesia Post – Thousands of residents of Sinar Penininjau Subdistrict, OKU Regency, welcomed the arrival of the Governor of South Sumatra (Sumsel) H. Herman Deru in Srimulya Village, Sunday (6/9) evening in the agenda of attending a grand recitation and commemoration of the 1442 H Islamic New Year as well as a reunion of the alumni camp. -V 2020 Darul Khuldi Islamic Boarding School.
In his remarks, Governor H. Herman Deru admitted that he was proud of the surrounding community attending the grand recitation even though it was still on a limited scale due to the Covid 19 Pandemic.
“A grand recitation like this is what we really miss, because in the last six months we have not held it considering the Covid-19 pandemic. Although currently we can hold events like this, we still have to apply health protocols,” he said.
Furthermore, HD invites Muslims in the region to be able to take the meaning and benefits of the Islamic New Year 1442 Hijriah anniversary, including increasing faith and piety towards Allah SWT and as a means of self-introspection.
“Through the moment of the Islamic New Year which we celebrate every year. Let’s increase our faith and continue to reflect on what we have not done for ourselves, our family and this nation,” he added.
After giving his remarks, Governor Herman Deru at the Darul Khuldi Islamic Boarding School was laying the first stone to mark the start of the construction of the new Madrasah building as well as the inauguration of the Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) Darul Khuldi Islamic Boarding School which was marked by cutting the ribbon and signing the inscription.
Meanwhile, Darul Khuldi, the head of the Islamic boarding school, Arfannudin, thanked Herman Deru for taking the time to attend in the middle of his busy work agenda as Governor.
“Thank you, the governor for fulfilling our invitation. We will remember this and pray for you, you are healthy and successful in leading South Sumatra,” he said while reporting that currently Darul Khuldi Islamic Boarding School already has male and female dormitories, offices, two-level learning buildings. and plus 10 new classrooms.
