Palembang, The Indonesia Post – Deputy Governor of South Sumatra H. Mawardi Yahya (MY) attended the inauguration of the Regional Leadership Council of Youth Farmers of the Association of Indonesian Farmers Harmony (DPD Pemuda Tani HKTI) South Sumatra Province.
The inauguration was carried out directly by the General Chairperson of the HKTI Youth Farmers, Rina Sa’adah, while the newly appointed General Chair of the HKTI South Sumatra Youth Farmer DPD was held by Syahril.
At that opportunity, MY advised the inaugurated management to invite young people in South Sumatra to take part in various activities involving farmers in the South Sumatra region.
“The current condition with the policy rolled out by the President of the Republic of Indonesia for the welfare of farmers is very large. We all hope that it is possible for farmers to be more awakened and prosperous in the future. I myself could be the Deputy Governor of South Sumatra, the son of a farmer, so let’s move our youth to be enthusiastic, “he asked.
Meanwhile, the General Chairperson of the HKTI Pemuda Tani DPP, Rina Sa’adah said that through the inauguration of the South Sumatra HKTI Farmer Management, it is hoped that it can create innovations in the welfare of Indonesian farmers, especially in the South Sumatra region.
“Within the HKTI Youth Farmers, the soul of youth does not differentiate between men and women, all are the same, what else is the goal for the welfare of farmers,” she said.
According to Rina Sa’adah, there are many problems faced by farmers today, including the condition of agricultural land developed by the industrial sector, then climate change which affects the planting season and harvest season for farmers.
Also attending were FKPD of South Sumatra Province and the heads of OPD within the South Sumatra Provincial Government. (icn/ril)
