One patient recovered from Covid-19 in Belitung Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands, claimed to choose roasted garlic for treatment.
“Because Covid-19 does not have a cure for the vaccine yet, so I used my own method of self-taught learning and thank God my personal experience was only 16 days isolated in the Hospital and declared cured,” the patient wrote in his personal Instagram account, quoted from Antara.
In addition to roasted garlic, this patient also regularly consumes lemon water, vitamin C supplements, vitamin B, honey water, sunbathing, and light exercise from the isolation room.
“Two cloves of roasted garlic do not need to be charred just put on top of the Teflon until weak (wilted), after that the chew tastes sweet, after that drink honey in a glass of water,” he said.
“And thank God, the results of the fourth and fifth swabs were negative. Because the day before I took a swab test, I consumed garlic before going to sleep and my swab was negative,” he said.
Garlic itself is actually good for health because it contains compounds that have antibacterial, antiviral, and antioxidant properties. One of these herbs can increase the work of white blood cells to fight the virus that causes coughs and colds.
Quoted from Alodokter, regular consumption of garlic is also considered to reduce cholesterol levels and blood fats, reduce the risk of hypertension and cardiovascular. But keep in mind, until now there has been no clinical evidence that garlic is proven to treat or prevent coronavirus infection.
The Indonesian government is also developing various anti-eucalyptus-based antivirus products that are claimed to potentially ward off the coronavirus that causes Covid-19. Currently, the testing process is being carried out by a team from the Ministry of Agriculture’s Research and Development Agency.
Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo said the idea of making a series of products stems from the results of laboratory tests of agricultural researchers. Testing of eucalyptus against influenza viruses, Beta and Gamma Coronaviruses shows the ability to kill viruses by 80-100 percent.
“Balitbangtan made several eucalyptus prototypes with nanotechnology in the form of inhalers, roll-on, ointment, balm, and diffuser,” explained Minister of Agriculture Yasin Limpo as quoted by Antara.
Meanwhile, the Governor of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Viktor Bungtilu Laiskodat claims to have found traditional medicine to treat the coronavirus.
He claimed to have sent the traditional medicinal herbs to the Chairman of the National Covid-19 Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling, Doni Monardo to help cure COVID-19 positive patients.
Quoting Antara, Viktor said the potion claimed to be able to cure the new Coronavirus was traditional medicine. This drug is also often used by residents of NTT in curing several types of diseases experienced by residents.
It’s just that he did not mention the ingredients or names of traditional medicinal herbs in question.
“NTT is rich in traditional ingredients for various types of diseases. The traditional ingredients for Covid-19 have been sent to Jakarta to be used in handling Covid-19 patients,” he said. (ras/bbs)
