Palembang, The Indonesia Post – Governor of South Sumatra H. Herman Deru received a visit from the Head of the Regional Financial Services Authority (OJK) 7 South Sumatra (Sumbagsel) in the Living Room of the Governor of South Sumatra, Monday (12/10) morning. This meeting, among others, discussed the issue of increasing the distribution of People’s Business Credit (KUR) by the Association of State Banks (Himbara) in South Sumatra.
South Sumatra Governor H. Herman Deru said this was good news for the people of South Sumatra Province. Currently, according to him, there is a significant increase in KUR from the available amount of Rp.4.4 trillion in Himbara coupled with the Kurda Program, the South Sumatra Provincial Government has experienced an increase in distribution.
“Currently, the distribution of KUR has been above 50 percent to the community, especially for agriculture. The agricultural sector dominates the distribution and this certainly supports food production in South Sumatra,” he said.
According to HD, the acceleration of KUR distribution as well as the provision of micro waqf banks is part of the South Sumatra Provincial Government’s commitment to the OJK and other institutions to restore the economy both nationally and South Sumatra.
“I am grateful for OJK Regional 7 with Bank Indonesia in this cooperation to restore the economy and thank God South Sumatra is still a province with very strong economic growth,” he continued.
He conveyed about economic growth in general, that according to HD the agricultural sector which is equally focused starting from infrastructure, production facilities (input), post-harvest, will still be a strength for the economy in South Sumatra.
“Thank you OJK, farmers and SMEs who are the economic powerhouse in South Sumatra,” he said.
It is known that economic growth in South Sumatra Province is currently still very good even during the Covid-19 epidemic. This cannot be separated from the role of the South Sumatra Provincial Government along with other institutions in maintaining South Sumatra’s economic growth and nationally.
In difficult times like this, the South Sumatra Provincial Government and its partners such as Bank Indonesia, the Regional Financial Services Authority (OJK) 7 Southern Sumatra and other agencies continue to provide convenience and relief for the community.
Not only accelerating the distribution of KUR, recovery efforts were also carried out by leasing to debtors to increase people’s purchasing power. (mhn/ril)
