Herman Deru Reminds Matakin to Prioritize Health Protocols when Holding Ruwat Bumi

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – Governor of South Sumatra H. Herman Deru always reminds the public to always prioritize the application of health protocols in carrying out various activities. This appeal was also conveyed to the board of the Supreme Council for Confucian Religion of Indonesia (Matakin) South Sumatra during an audience in the Governor’s living room, Wednesday (23/09/20) morning.

According to HD, he really appreciated Matakin’s plan to hold Ruwat Bumi activities on 27 September. However, during this pandemic period, he urged the committee to coordinate with the Covid Task Force first so that activities are actually carried out according to the applicable health protocol rules.

Moreover, currently the South Sumatra Provincial Government has enacted Governor Regulation (Pergub) Number 37 of 2020.

The Governor Regulation Number 37 of 2020 contains guidelines for adapting new habits to a productive and safe society in the Covid-19 situation.

“I really appreciate this step and at the same time pray that Covid will go away immediately, and continue to prioritize health protocols. I hope this is also to knit friendship,” said the Governor of HD.

For that in the process HD asked the South Sumatra Matakin management to coordinate immediately by submitting a letter to the Covid Task Force. Then do not forget to coordinate with relevant agencies such as the Indonesian National Police and the Transportation Agency.

During a pandemic like this, HD continued, the application of health protocols was the most effective means of suppressing the spread of Covid. With discipline to apply public health protocols, they can also carry out activities as usual even though still within certain limitations.

Meanwhile, the head of South Sumatra Matakin, Sakim Nanda Budi Setiawan said that the event will be divided into several days by implementing health protocols. Namely by limiting the number of participants who participate as well, requiring the use of masks and providing hand washing facilities at each event location that will be centered in Jakabaring.

“It starts in Jakabaring and then goes around the city too. But we limit the participants, there is social distancing according to health protocols,” said Sakim.

According to Sakim, their arrival at the audience was also in order to get direct direction from the Governor regarding the organization of the Earth Ruwat. Therefore, they were very happy when the Governor of HD accepted their arrival.

“Actually, we wanted to have an audience for a long time but it continues to be delayed because of Covid. Today we are very happy because Mr. Herman Deru met us directly. We also invite him to invite him to the event,” concluded Sakim.

Apart from the head of the South Sumatra Matakin, also appearing in the audience were the South Sumatra Matakin Advisory Board Drs Sutopo Sjahudin, Gunawan Adi Suwarno, the Secretary of South Sumatra Provincial Matakin Jason Gunawab, Deputy Treasurer of South Sumatra Matakin Suryanto Huang and the Chairman of the Matakin Women’s Division Visia Veronica Kwee.
